Richard Osman has revealed that the fifth book in his globally bestselling series The Thursday Murder Club will be published in September 2025.
He’s remained tight-lipped about the storyline of the next in the series, but it will involve more highjinks with the gang at Coopers Chase retirement village. It comes five years after the release of the first Thursday Murder Club book, which went straight into The Sunday Times book chart at number one.
Steven Spielberg’s company, Amblin Entertainment, is currently adapting the first book into a film, which stars Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Sir Ben Kingsley, Celia Imrie and David Tennant, among others.
In September, Osman published the first book in his new series, We Solve Murders, and it was the fifth of his books to go straight to number one across all book charts.
Osman’s editor, Harriet Bourton, said: “Richard Osman has an inimitable talent for creating characters who immediately feel like friends and worlds you love to spend time in. Whether it’s We Solve Murders or The Thursday Murder Club, you are guaranteed to enjoy yourself—and we are so excited that his world-famous gang of sleuths will be back on the scene next autumn.”
