Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes said: "Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died at what is a desperately sad time.
"We know there will have been other drivers in the area, possibly with dashcam footage, and we would like to see that and speak with those drivers.
"The driver of the car involved remained at the scene, so we now want to speak to anyone else who might have seen what happened."
