A "truly kind" mum-of-three posted how she felt "like death" just hours before her death.
Clair Medley, from Mirfield, Yorkshire, died suddenly on Thursday (January 8) this week, reports Yorkshire Live.
The mum-of-three was allegedly due to see her GP today (Friday) after falling unwell with an apparent chest infection and bad cough.
In an ominous post online, the 47-year-old said she was "feeling like death".
Her sudden passing has since sent shockwaves across her hometown, with close friends describing her as a "remarkable" mum to three boys who would "give you the shirt off her back."
Her close friend of two decades, Nicki Hill, has set up a Go Fund Me page to help raise money to pay for her funeral.
In a matter of hours, more than £4,000 has been raised and has since surpassed the £6,000 mark at the time of writing.
Paying tribute to her friend, Nicki wrote: "I have known Clair for 20 years and our kids have always been friends. This was one remarkable woman, she had a heart of gold and would do anything she could for anyone.
"This has come as a huge shock to anyone that knew her, which I can guarantee was a lot of people. "
Nicki added she was "fighting through tears" to write the fundraiser, concluding: "I can't put into words how much of a beautiful soul she has".
The outlet added Clair had grown up in Ravensthorpe before moving to Mirfield and welcoming three sons.
She was well known and loved across Mirfield, and had previously worked at Maughan's, a bakery in the area.
Nicki said Clair had been feeling unwell and had been to see her GP and had been prescribed antibiotics, but wasn't getting better. She was due to return to see her GP today, (Friday), the friend added.
"Sadly Clair wasn’t insured because at her age nobody thinks about things like this. I am trying to raise money for the funeral to help Lisa and her boys give Clair the send off she deserves," she continued in the GoFundMe.
"Anything anyone can give would be great. Anything over the funeral will go to the kids and Lisa to try and make their lives a bit more comfortable. "
Friends have left their tributes on social media, describing Clair as a "kind soul" and a woman who was "truly kind".
Around 200 people have donated to the online appeal. Mirfield's Saville Arms pub has donated £500. Nicki said she was very thankful for the donations.
